USS Missouri ("Mighty Mo" or "Big Mo") is a United States Navy Iowa-class battleship and was the third ship of the U.S. Navy to be named after the U.S. state of Missouri. Missouri was the last battleship commissioned by the United States and is best remembered as the site of the surrender of the Empire of Japan which ended World War II. Missouri was commissioned in 1944. She fought in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and shelled the Japanese home islands, and she fought in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. She was decommissioned in 1955 into the United States Navy reserve fleets. Missouri received a total of 11 battle stars for service in World War II, Korea, and the Persian Gulf. In 1998, she was donated to the USS Missouri Memorial Association and became a museum ship at Pearl Harbor.

This iconic memorial at Pearl Harbor marks the resting place of 1,102 sailors and Marines killed on USS Arizona during the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 and commemorates the events of that day. The attack on Pearl Harbor and the island of Oʻahu led to the United States' direct involvement in World War II. Built in 1962, the memorial is visited by more than two million people annually. Accessible only by boat, it straddles the sunken hull of the battleship without touching it. The battleship's sunken remains were declared a National Historic Landmark in 1989.

The still-active Navy base itself was recognized in 1964 as a National Historic Landmark district and with the National Register of Historic Places since 1976. Within its bounds, it contains several other National Historic Landmarks associated with the attack on Pearl Harbor, including the Arizona, Bowfin, and Utah.

The ʻIolani Palace was the royal residence of the rulers of the Kingdom of Hawaii beginning with Kamehameha III under the Kamehameha Dynasty (1845) and ending with Queen Liliʻuokalani (1893) under the Kalākaua Dynasty. The Palace features architecture seen nowhere else in the world. This unique style is known as American Florentine. On the first floor a grand hall faces a staircase of koa wood. Ornamental plaster decorates the interior. The throne room (southeast corner), the blue meeting room, and the dining room adjoin the hall. It had electricity and telephones even before the White House. After the monarchy was overthrown in 1893, the building was used as the capitol building until 1969. The palace was restored and opened to the public as a museum in 1978.

Formerly the Honolulu Academy of Arts, it is the largest of its kind in the state. It has one of the largest single collections of Asian and Pan-Pacific art in the United States. It presents international caliber special exhibitions and features a collection that includes Hokusai, van Gogh, Gauguin, Monet, Picasso and Warhol, as well as traditional Asian and Hawaiian art. Its large collection of Asian art has a focus on Japanese and Chinese works. Located in two of Honolulu’s most beautiful buildings, visitors can enjoy two cafés, gardens, and films and concerts at the theater.

Waikīkī (also known as Waikiki Beach) is a beachfront neighborhood of Honolulu. Waikiki is most famous for Waikīkī Beach. The name Waikīkī means spouting fresh water in the Hawaiian language. The area was a retreat for Hawaiian royalty in the 1800s who enjoyed surfing there on early forms of longboards. Today, the area is filled with large resort hotels and historic hotels dating back to the early 20th century. The beach hosts many events a year, including surf competitions, outdoor performances, hula dancing and outrigger canoe races. The surf at Waikīkī is known for its long rolling break, making it ideal for long boarding, tandem surfing and beginners.

It is a national cemetery that serves as a memorial to honor those men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces, and those who have given their lives in doing so. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Millions of visitors visit the cemetery each year, and it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hawaii. It was the first such cemetery to install Bicentennial Medal of Honor headstones, the medal insignia being defined in gold leaf. The cemetery contains a "Memorial Walk" that is lined with a variety of memorial markers from various organizations and governments that honor America's veterans.

Diamond Head is a defining feature of the view known to residents and tourists of Waikīkī, and also a U.S. National Natural Monument. The volcanic tuff cone was a State Monument. It is estimated to be about 500,000 to 400,000 years old. The crater's proximity to downtown's resort hotels and beaches makes the it a popular destination for spectacular panoramic views. A 0.75-mile hike leads to the edge of the crater's rim. From the summit above the observation platform both Waikīkī and the Pacific Ocean can be seen in detail.

Hanauma is a marine embayment formed within a tuff ring and located along the southeast coast of Oʻahu. Famous for it’s snorkeling, this beachfront park offers coral reefs and diverse marine lives. About 400 species of fish are known to inhabit the bay. Hanauma Bay is known for its abundance of Green sea turtles, Chelonia mydas, known as Honu. It is a nursery ground for the immature turtles. It is also known for its abundance of parrotfish.

This beach is located in Lanikai, a community in the town of Kailua and on the windward coast of Oahu. The name Lanikai means "heavenly sea." This small ½ mile strip of beach is consistently ranked among the best beaches in the world. Adjacent to Lanikai Beach is a primarily upper-class residential area because of this it is accessible through public beach access paths. Lanikai is a popular spot for photo shoots as renowned models and photographers frequent the place on nice days.

Located in the Manoa Valley, the Manoa Falls is 150 foot waterfall that empties into a small pool of water. The waterfall is nestled in the mountains of Koolau in a tropical rainforest. It is served by the scenic Manoa Falls Trail leading up to the waterfall. Nearby there is also the Lyon Arboretum, a 200-acre arboretum and botanical garden featuring 5,000 exotic plants, birds and a self-guided hike.
