Wat Chedi Luang Worawihan

Wat Chedi Luang is a Buddhist temple in the historic centre of walled Chiang Mai. The construction of the temple started in the 14th century, when King Saen Muang Ma planned to bury the ashes of his father there. In 1545, the upper 30 m of the structure collapsed after an earthquake.

Wat Phan Tao is a wooden monastery located adjacent to Wat Chedi Luang. The building was originally constructed as a royal palace building for the ruler of Chiang Mai from 1846 to 1854.

Three King's Monument

One of the best known and most recognizable of the many Chiang Mai attractions is the Three Kings Monument. The monument is located at the centre of the old city. Standing in front of the Chiang Mai City Art and Cultural Centre, the monument was erected to immortalize the 3 Kings who together were responsible for the founding of Chiang Mai in 1296.

Wat Chiang Man is a Buddhist temple built by Mangrai in 1297 as the first temple of Chiang Mai.

Phra Singh Temple

Construction on Wat Phra Singh began in 1345 by King Phayu in the Mangrai Dynasty. In 1367, the statue of Phra Buddha Singh was brought to the temple, after which the temple complex received its present name. The whole temple complex underwent extensive renovations during the 1920s. Many of the buildings were again restored in 2002.

After a full day of sightseeing activities, it's always a good idea to have a Thai massage for relaxation. Located at the heart of the old city, the Chiang mai Women Correctional Institution Vocational Training Center offers fantastic massages performed by female inmates participating in the prison's job-training rehabilitation program. It is a well-known and established massage training program, the women all all non-violent offenders. The cafe next door is a nice spot for a post-massage brew.

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a Theravada wat located 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from the city of Chiang Mai. It is a sacred site to many Thai people. From the temple, impressive views of Chiang Mai can be seen. The original founding of the temple remains a legend and there are a few varied versions. The temple is said to have been founded in 1383 when the first stupa was built.

Bhuping Palace

Bhubing Rajanives Palace is a royal residence built in 1961 to accommodate the royal family during state visits to Chiang Mai. It is built in the mountains overlooking Chiang Mai. Elephant Nature Park is a sanctuary and rescue centre for elephants, approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) from Chiang Mai City. The park operates under a business model in which tourists pay to visit and help care for the animals, and can stay for extended periods.

Chiang Mai Night Bazaar

Chiang Mai Night Bazaar or just Night Bazaar is directly east of the city moat. It is known for its handicrafts and portrait paintings. There are also restaurants and cafe. The market is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Chiang Mai. If you happened to be in Chiang Mai on a Sunday, make sure you check out the Sunday Market. The Sunday Market (or Walking Street) is a large market located right in the centre of the old walled city area. Starting at the Tha Phae Gate at one end the Sunday Market extends for roughly 1km down the full length of Ratchadamnoen Road. The market is open on Sundays from 4pm until midnight.

Wat Rong Khun White Temple

Wat Rong Khun, perhaps better known to foreigners as the White Temple, is a contemporary, unconventional, privately owned, art exhibit in the style of a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai Province. By the end of the 20th century, the original Wat Rong Khun was in a bad state of repair. It was completely rebuilt in 1997."

Baan Dam - Black House Museum

Baan Dam, also known as Black House, is an art museum of a large collection of paintings, sculptures, animal bones, skins, horns, especially in black color. The artifacts at the complex are intricately arranged, giving off a unique and mysterious tribal vibe.The complex consists of a few dozens of small black houses, it was created by Thailand national artist Thawan Duchanee.
