Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (L/D)
You will be met at Noi Bai Airport by our guide and driver, and taken on a short thirty-minute journey into Hanoi to check in to your hotel. After having a delicious lunch and relaxing time, you will visit Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (The Temple of Literature), the first Imperial University in Vietnam which was built in 1070.
At approximately 15:00 you will leave the Temple of Literature for Ngoc Son Temple which sits on an island in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake. Here you take a moment of calm from the busy streets and learn about the legend of the turtle in the lake.
The tour will end at around 16:00 when you guide will take you back to your hotel in Hanoi.

Day 2: Ha Noi - Lang Son - Cao Bang (L,D)
7.30 am pick up at your hotel then departure for Lang Son. It is a journey of approximately 185 miles (310 kilometers) through vertiginous rice paddies and remote villages. You will get the chance to stop at an ethnic village known for its rice production. Also on the same road is the historical site where The Battle of Dong Khe was fought during the First Indochina War. The fight took place in Dong Khe, in the Province of Tonkin, during September and October 1950, ending with a Viet Minh victory. This is the road less traveled in Vietnam, offering the chance to enjoy some peace and tranquility. There will be a stop for lunch before visiting Mother's Temple and Dong Kinh Market (a border market). Dinner and overnight at hotel in Cao Bang city.

Day 3: Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Ba Be Lake (B, L, D)
After breakfast, you will set off to the district of Trung Khanh, close to Vietnam’s northern border with China. Here you will be introduced to the Nung people in the village of Phuoc Sen, a small village famous for the production of farming tools. Like the Tays, the Nungs largely live by farming the terraced rice paddies that you will see all around as you journey to Ban Gioc Waterfall, the breathtakingly majestic falls that demarcate the border between Vietnam and China. There will be time enjoy the view and soak up the sublime atmosphere of Vietnam’s most beautiful waterfall before making your way to the Nguom Ngao “Tiger Cave” known for its wonderful limestone formations. You will then make your way to return Cao Bang town and going down on snake pass to Ba Be Lake, tonight you will stay overnight on traditional house of Tay ethnic family. At the homestay, you can relax and unwind from the day and enjoy a meal of home cooked local food.

Day 4: Ba Be Lake - Ha Noi (B, L)
You can relax on board, do some wildlife spotting or if you need to cool off, you can jump into the cool, clean waters for a refreshing swim! As you float on Ba Be Lake, you can take in the scenery of the surrounding karsts decorated with patches of wild vegetation and inhabited by all sorts of interesting creatures. The boat ride along the Nang River, with time to explore the stunning Ba Be Lake, the caves of Puong Grottowhere you can explore the stalactites and stalagmites which are a result of the erosion of the river on the karst as well as looking out for the bat colony several thousand strong. You will depart for the journey back Hanoi, a drive of approximately 150 miles (230 kilometers). We will stop at some hills tea plant before returning to your hotel in the bustling city of Hanoi.

Day 5: Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City
You will be welcomed by your guide at HCMC's Tan Son Nhat International Airport. You will travel to your hotel where you can rest & relax until you are collected for dinner at the Indochina cruising restaurant. You can enjoy dinner and relax by the river before spending your first night in HCMC.

Day 6: Cu Chi Tunnel (B/L/D)
You will be picked-up from your hotel and enjoy an excursion to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels which helped the Viet Cong defeat their enemies. The tunnels stretch right across the country, reaching all the way to the Cambodian border in some places. Parts of the winding passageways and rooms are now open to the public, and today, you will have the chance to descend into the claustrophobic tunnels. You will then travel back to HCMC where you will stay the night.

Day 7: Mekong Delta (B/L/D)
You journey into the heart of the Mekong Delta starts at 08:00 from your hotel in Saigon with a drive to My Tho, the capital of Tien Giang Province. You will visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, one of the most beautiful pagodas of the province which combines many architectural and decorative styles. You will then take a boat trip round 4 beautiful islets: Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River still remain unknown to many people. You will discover beautiful landscapes along the river and observe the typical Mekong Delta way of life. You will then head to Quoi An Village where you can see the traditional houses all crafted from coconut trees which grow in abundance in the area. You will also see how the local people use all of the different parts of the coconut tree to make beautiful handicrafts. You can then take a rest and enjoy seasonal fruit whilst listening to some traditional music. After, take a traditional horse cart along a village path and stop at Ben Truc Orchard to taste honey with tea or Mekong whisky (they have a funny rule for guests to get in). Next, you will take a row-boat trip in palm creek to visit a coconut candy mill. You can enjoy fantastic lunch at local restaurant before returning to HCMC for another overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City Departure (B)
You will have the morning to soak up the buzzing energy of Ho Chi Minh City and do any last bits of souvenir shopping before your return flight.
